KP Astrology, also known as Krishnamurti Paddhati, is a system of astrological interpretation developed by Prof. K. S. Krishnamurti. It is particularly known for its Sub-Lord Theory, in which each Nakshatra is divided into nine unequal subdivisions, known as Subs, according to the Vimshottari Dasha system.
While traditional Vedic Astrology emphasises planetary positions and the Nakshatra a planet occupies, KP Astrology places greater emphasis on the Star Lord and Sub-Lord for detailed chart interpretation. It also commonly uses the Placidus House System, in which house sizes can vary according to geographical latitude.
The Sub-Lord is a key factor in KP Astrology and is used to assess how particular results or events may manifest.
Ruling Planets (RP) are used in KP practice to support chart verification and event timing. They are generally derived from astrological factors associated with the Ascendant, Moon, and weekday at the time of judgment.
1. Cuspal Analysis
KP Astrology examines each house cusp and its Sub-Lord to interpret matters relating to different areas of life in greater detail.
2. Planetary Significators
Planets are analysed through the houses they occupy and signify at the sign and star levels, helping astrologers develop a structured interpretation of potential outcomes.
3. Ruling Planets (RP)
Planets associated with the Ascendant, Moon, and weekday at the time of judgment are used in KP practice to support chart verification and event timing.
